- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The people had little ornaments, and they used stick them here and there on top of the cake to make the bread look fancy looking. It is about fifty years ago since currants and raisins first became common in this country. The people also made oaten meal loaves.
The people had a supply of bread made that would last them for a week, and the reason why they used make it was, that it would be stale, and that they would not be able to eat much of it, as food was very scarce that time. They put a cross on top of the cake as it was the custom.- Bailitheoir
