- We have a churn at home it is of a round shape and there is a dash inside in it. WE churn every week. Before we churn we put the cream beside the fire so that the butter would be yellow. When we have the churning finished we take away the butter out of the churn and we put salt on it.
When people churn they put a coal of fire under the churn, and they put salt in the lid of it for luck.
Long ago it was very hard to churn.
The people had churns with a dash in the lids of them.
