- 1. In Thomas Clarke's land in Ussey,
Ballymoe, Co. Galway there was a
spring well under an old bush. One day
a women rinsed her clothes in it.
Immediately it dried up and sprang up
about twenty yards away. The place
where the well was can be seen yet
under the old bush.
2. Years ago part of the bog of Kilmore
ran away. For weeks beforehand
the people could hear it roaring. it
moved along for miles. When it
started the bogholes bursted and
made their own river. One woman
was smothered in her own house
and all the stock that were on the
land which it reached. A dog
climbed up to a house and stayed
