- We have tow cows, two big cattle, four younger ones and four like calves. We call the cows Gilligan and Sligo. In the cow house there is a manger for each animal, and the animals are tied by chains round their necks. The chains are nailed to posts. The home ties are made of straw and these are called "bri-dhawns".
Our horse has a stable for himself. His name is Bob. Years ago a man lived in Moate who had no horse to do his Springs work. All the neighbors were working theirs so he could not borrow any animal. One day he went into a field and there he saw(continues on next page)
