It was made by having two stones on top of each other and there was a handle which they twisted to make the stones move. It is nearly like an oats crusher except that in an oats crucher the stones are beside each other and in the grinding stone the stones are on top of each other. Marks cut on cakes.
Marks were cut on the cakes so that they could break the cake in quarters. Vessel in which baked.
