  1. A Mass Rock (2)
There is a Mass Rock on a the farm of Mr. Bartly Sweeney in the townland of Tulaigantaggart parish of Cloonclare and County of Leitrim. It is about one mile from each, the Corranmore and Manorhamiliton -Kiltyclogher roads. The stone is situated on the side of a bleak hill without a tree, rock or any other place of cover on it. But the long distance from the old roads then in use rendered its position favorable. The priest who celebrated Mass there was a grand-uncle of the present owner of the farm. His name was Fr. Mc Loughlin. It was he who celebrated Mass at Rattler's Cave and also in a cave near White Hill now called Mick Martin's cave but the latter place was informed on and he had to cease celebrating Mass. On a few occasions he went to the townlands of Lisdarush and Shasmore to say Mass. He lived about three years (around 1800) in this district, after he was ordained. He was always on the run and never stayed in his sister's house at night. He went to some of his neighbours' homes and everybody except the occupants of that house were in ignorance as to his lodgings. The townland of Tulaigantaggert was called so because it was there he was born. Felix Gilgunn was the only person I heard of who attended Mass there. He lived in the nearest house in Loughafonta to the Mass Rock.
