- A Story.
In the year eighteen hundred and seventy-eight there lived a man named Lord Leitrim. He dwelt in the southern portion of Bo Leitrim near a lough which is known by the name of Lough Wryn.
This man was very cruel to his tenants and for that reason the people did not like him. One day they all agreed they would kill him and get a better man in his place. They marched as far as his house and as [?] to see Lord Leitrim. They also told his wife to get out of the house and to take away anything that she wished to take but to leave her husband in the house. She told the man that she would take as much as she was able to carry in a sack she held in her hand. When she returned to the house she put her husband into the sack and left the house. The soldiers little dreaming what she had in the bag went into the spacious building to seek for the man. They then discovered what had happened and they put the hounds for scent their(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
