  1. The most harmful weeds growing on our farm at home are the red shanks and Clover, and "clock sorl." Clover and clock sarl spreads, while red shanks make the ground poor. Clock Sarl is used for the burning hive, while cattle eat the others. Clock sarl is mixed with fresh butter before it is used. The root is very branchy on any of these Herbs, because they are always soaking the good out of the ground, and it never grows in bad ground. Clover is good for cattle. Herbs were extensively used in the cure and relief of poor people, in olden times Sufferers were relieved and cured by them
