  1. In my locality there are not many wells but in this essay I will relate all the local ones I have heard of.
    In the townland of Doonkelly there is a well called "Tobar Padraig" and it is said that when Saint Patrick was in Ireland he visited that well and blessed it and it never goes dry. There is another well in Leckaun and it is said that when Saint Patrick was in Ireland he left the shape of his foot in a solid flag and a well burst up the exact shape of his foot and it is now called Saint Patrick's well.
    There is another well about four miles from Sligo called Tobar an Ailt and on the last Sunday of July thousands of people assemble to this well for devotions. In the townland of Corraghan there is a well called "Browney" and it is said that who ever is first at that well on May morning has the most butter
