    Fairy Forts
That old fort over there is fill of fairies and I can tell you a good story about it that I heard my father tell, the Lord have mercy on his soul!
One night a few men were travelling over this village when 'twas a big farm. They heard a noise and looked about them and what did they see but a black carriage drawn by no horses. This was very queer because in those days about one hundred years ago there were no motor cars. The people who were in the carriage could not be seen as curtains were drawn across the windows. The fairy coach went across the village at a great speed and entered that fort. This carriage was called the "coiste bodhar" or "dead coach" and was supposed to carry human persons into the fort and leave "sidhoagues" in their place who used to die after a time.
