held by Quille and Sheehy. There is a mountain between Cloghane Leskirt and Stack's Mountain and there was no defined boundary between the townlands. The people of Cloghane thought the people of Stack's Mountain were encroaching too much on them, in grazing cattle. There were several fisticuff battles fought between them. The Stack's Mountain people were a very strong race, but eventually the people of Cloghane beat them decisively. They turned a sod, the full length of the mountain between the two landlords and so made a boundary. It is hard to discern it now.

  2. Long ago Fionn had a fight with the De Dannans and they were supposed to be witches. Fionn beat them in the fight and at the end of the fight a witch challenged Fionn to race round the four corners of Ireland, so they agreed. The witch was leading Fionn badly, and one of Fionn's men followed him, for fear he might be led into danger by the witch. When they were coming near Glenalema Fionn's man got up to him, and told him he was no good, and with angerFionn ran to jump Glenalema.
