Then the men drove them to the edge of the lock and in a minutes she fell in with Seamus hanging on to her horns. When he turned right side up again he found himself before a palace. The king of the fairies came out with several others and asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted his cow but the king said that it was not his cow and asked Seamus several questions about her. He wanted to give him money for her but Seamus would not take it. Then they brought him a bag of gold which they offered him in payment for the cow but he would not have none of them. When they saw him so bold they began to beat him but he still kept on to her horns. A great wind rose and blew them out of the place.
