    The following are some of the local cures that are to be found in my district.
    I. Warts are supposed to be cured by the following.-
    (i) Knitting a linen thread around them.
    (ii) Bathing in water lodged in the hollow of a rock.
    (iii) Rubbing them with castor oil for nine successive nights.
    (iv) Applying or rubbing with a black snail (found with having to be looked for) which should then be hung on a thorny bush and left to wither. The wart is supposed to vanksh as the snail withers.
    (v) The application of holy water for nine successive Tuesdays.
    (vi) To say three times during a burial or while following the
