- Weaving was carried on in the district in olden days. Candles were also made at that time. When they were they were put into moulds and left to cool and to harden.
Pikes, rakes and spades, were made in the district, but such as ploghs harrows or diggers were not made in the district.
Flax was growen there for the making of linen sheets and garments. The people had not lamps but they had a light all the same.
