Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Gilmartin. They are about 75 years of age. They can speak a few words of Irish. They cannot tell any story in Irish. Each of them can tell stories in English. Houses were not more numerous in former time than they are now. There are not any ruins of old houses in my townland. People emigrated from my place to America in former years. My townland is not mentioned in song, story or rhyme. The land in my townland is good all but a little spot that is boggy. There is no wood growing in my townland. There is a river flowing at the end of the land. In my townland there are no lakes or streams. There are not any stories connected with the lakes or rivers of my townland.
- I live in the district of Ballyholan in the parish of Kilmoremoy and in the barony of Tireragh. There are ten families in the district numbering about fifty persons. The name Ferguson is the most common in our district. There are three slated houses, two with corrugated iron roofs and five thatched houses. Formerly the district was called Caltra with the exception of our house(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
