    able to fight anymore. The girl, fearing that the cat might now attack herself took up a sledge and hit the cat a fatal blow on the head and killed him. The enchanted cat has not been seen since and the bravery of the girl has been talked about to this day in the district.

    On Christmas Eve a piece of timber from a fruitful tree was procured. This timber was burnt on Christmas Night. A little piece of it was kept and put away safely. It was supposed to save themselves and their house from big wind and fire all through the year.
    A part of the burnt log was also taken and shaken on the land so that their crops would bear good fruit for the year.
