- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)got him on the middle of the road and he not able to stir. They put him to bed and he nearly died with Pneumonia. He took the pledge and then turned to play cards. He won money, turkeys, geese and every thing, and became a great card-player. He used to be out all hours of the night and one night he met a little man and a small table with cards on it that would not let him pass until he would play ten games with him. The little man won every game. The next night Corlon brought his own pack of cards. Corlon did not meet the little man but when he was coming home he heard crying and someone saying "go fast Corlon or you will be sorry. Corlon gave up the cards and drink and did not live long after.
