- About two fields from my house is a fort which is believed to contain a treasure of fold. In this fort is a number of white thorn bushes and it is said that the gold was under a certain bush. In olden times years and years ago a number of men decided to search for the gold, and one night they came to the fort with picaxes and spades and started to dig. They were not long digging, when stones started to fall around them and they had to leave. The second night they came again and were digging about an hour when a swarm of bees gathered around them and they had to run. On the third night they came again it being a bright night and all of a sudden it got pitch dark so that they were only too glad to run from it when it got a little bright. So the gold is hidden there still.
