- There are six forges in this Parish. The smiths are William Halloran Patrick Halloran, Ned Halloran, John Sullivan, John Casey, and Patrick Cantillon.
Nearly all their fathers had been smiths. Smiths were always looked upon as strong men.
The forges are situated near the cross roads. There is also a stream a long the side of them.
The forge I know best is Willie Halloran's. It is built with stone and mortar and there is a slated roof on it, and there are two windows in it. There is a heap of iron outside the door.
He repairs harrows, ploughs and machines, and many other implements.
The things he uses are; an anvil, a bellows a sledge,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
