a man standing at the door and he got afraid. After a while the man came in following by a great many people both young and old. He asked the travelling man would he play for a dance. The man said he had no instrument, that if he had a fife he could play.
Then the man pulled off a womans leg from the knee down and it turned into a fife. He gave it to the travelling man and he commenced to play for the dance. The dancers were not satisfied with his music. They said he was not a good player. A few more pulled off legs of others and made fifes of them also.
They danced until the cock crew and then they went away. The travelling man thought it was a dream then but when he saw the fife he knew it was not a dream.
