was so kind he got over an old ship from England called the Pomonó.
Young and old were put on board "and to the bottom goes Pomonó"
A song was composed about the awful tragedy- Some of it runs thus:
Twas in the Parish of Drumcliff and around by Maugherow
Our rent was paid we were not afraid and we never thought we'd go
We were forced to yield and go on board Pómonó.
And many's the and pretty lass that evening on the shore
Lamenting for their own sweethearts they'd never see them more
They are sailing on the ocean to a place they do not know.
And they will mourn to night for their hearts delight on board the Pómonó.

SIr Robert heard about the song and asked a man about the place to sing it. Sir Robert and his lady were very much put about. They asked the man not to sing it again and they tried after that to do good for the people.
