He offered to help her and she willingly agreed. He got an iron bar and he made a hole in the wall opposite the fire and at once the sun shone on the hearth-stone. She was so delighted that she went to the room and brought down £20 which she handed to him.
He set out once more, saying to himself "There are two as foolish as my mother." At the end of six months he heard great shouting in the house and going in he saw a man sitting on a chair with his shirt half on him and his wife hammering him with a beetle on the head trying to put it on.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
