- The old men and women tell stories round a big bright fire. We play several tricks.
We tie an apple from the ceiling and somebody ties our hands behind our backs. Then we try to get a bite of the apple. If we succeed we get the whole apple.
We get three saucers and we put clay in one water in another and a ring in the third. We blind-fold each one of the company and lead her to the table. If she puts her hand on the ring she will be the first to be married. If she puts her hand on the water she will be the first to cross the sea, and if she puts her hand on the clay she will be the first to die.
We get four slips of paper and put the names of four boys on them. We place(continues on next page)
