- This lands of this townland belonged to one family. Then during the Cromwellian terror in Ireland a number of families came in and settle here. They built mud cabins as first as shelters. Later the land was divided between them by a landlord named Robinson. They has to pay very high rents.
The Gores of Lissadell then took over the estate.
To the Gores they paid exhorbitant rents. They also had to feed greyhounds and take them to Lissadell when paying these rents.
The Gores held the land for forty one years.
Then the lands were acquired by the Erasmus Smith Scho.
