- There are a great variety of herbs in this locality. They were used very much for cures by the people of the locality. The most plentiful herbs and weeds in this locality are docks or dockings, as they are locally called, rushes, briars, Fearaban, whins, chickweed, glasherlane and "buacallans" or ragweeds.
Buacallans grow in dry firm land and docks grow in wet land. Button weeds grow in the meadow. Briars grow in all kinds of soil, and we get blackberries from them in Autumn. Ramps(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
