The father of the bride used to give her a fortune or cattle.
They used to be a wedding feast in the bride's home. "Straw boys" used to come to the wedding and they used to wear woman's clothes and a cloth over their heads. There used to be a wedding procession and hauling home held. The men used to race on horses and who ever would win would get a bottle of whiskey.
