    Long ago the old people used to make up their own cures for different diseases. The following are some of their cures.
    Toothache:
    Warm salt on a pan and put it in a stocking and then tie it round the jaw.

    Mumps:
    If the father and mother were the same name the children have the cure of the mumps. You are to put a bridle on the patient and lead him to a stream and wash his throat with the water.
    Whooping-Cough:
    Ferret's leavings or asses milk are good cures for it.
    Foul Mouth:
    A child who never saw its father has the cure for
