- In the year 1916 we had an ugly wind storm which wrought havoc in at least one portion of Ireland.
It was about the beginning of February. The early part of the day seemed none worse than the previous days. Until nightfall there was no appearances of anything unusual. At about 7 p.m the wind began to blow, and for the greater part of the night it blew with terrific force.
Inland there was nto much harm done beyond the uprooting of trees(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
