This view is not in conflict with Holy Faith or with the teaching of the Church as Purgatory is defined as a state of punishment in the next life. This view is rather tenaciously held in many parts of the country among the members of the older generation. I myself saw the practice in operation, and am thus confirmed in the view that these "lonely" bushes should still be respected.
