- Long ago in this district the people had old cures in which they placed all their trust. In this time very few doctor or nurses existed. They had cures and remedies for nearly every disease.
They had methods for curing whooping cough, measels, ringworm, toothache, sore throats and fowl mouths.
The whooping cough was a sickness which was very common in this district in olden times. Some people used to give the patient a drink of the leavings of ferret's milk, while others used to put the person out under a foals feet. Those cures were supposed to be very good in those days. Most of the people of the district used those cures because they were not expensive, and they also believed that those doings would cure the invalids(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
