- Weather Lore
Perhaps the farmer is one of the best judges of the weather as the sky is his roof from morning until night and from one end of the year to the other. Some of his hints as regards the weather are as follows,
1. That when the stars are very numerous and twinkling rain is fast approaching.
2. When the old moon can be seen inside the new moon, it is the sign of the coming month being a bad one.
3. When the foxes can be heard howling in the coves of Keash, it is said to be the sign of big wind.
4. Bats always tear the trees before big wind.
5. The rivers make terrible noise before rain.
6. When the cows and swallows fly high, it is the sign of good weather, when they fly low it is the sign of rain.
7. When salt begins to get danp it is the sign of rain.
