    he went to bed that night he thought there was some-body next to him in the bed, but he could not see who i t was. The next morning, his hand was worse, and he could not but believe that somebody was the cause of it. he went to the priest and told him the story.     The poor an went home sorrowfully. From that on he lived miserably in a bog. His hand rotted after a little while, and there was neither trace nor tidings of the thatcher after a year. The ruins of the fort are still there but he assured that nobody will interfere with it.
