  1. Inch, which is situated a little distance east of Aunascaul, is a place of historic interest. Long ago, when the Fianna Éireann journeyed from Blare to meet "Ri an Domain" at Venty, while they went through Corca Dhuibhne they rested one night in Inch. The people of the village considered this a great privilege and an old man composed a verse of poetry concerning it. The poetry reads as follows-
They then proceed by the nearest way, From Blare's green borders without halt or stay,
O'er Limerick's pastures rich with grazing kine,
And Kerry's ruggedness each steep inches.
They never rested till near Inch they found
Ten miles from Venty a fair
    camping ground
and there they pitched their tents
    as night's soft spread,
Her robes calm shrouding like the
    sleeping dad.
