- In this district some feasts are held each year. On St. Stephen's day boys go around collecting money to bury the wren, which they are supposed to carry on a branch decorated with ribbons. The song they sing is;
"The wren, the wren the king of all birds,
St. Stephens Day was caught into the furze
Although he is small his family is great.
Rise up good lady and give us a treat.
When they would have a lot of money collected they would have a dance in some neighbour's house. On the 31st Jan, the night before was St. Brigid's Day a lot of people go out looking for money for the "Biddy". The "Biddy" is dressed up like a big doll. One of the company holds this in his arms.
