Long ago funerals from the parish went through Áth-na-gCorp to Muckross Abbey. Sometimes the river used be flooded and the people had to wait for a couple of days until the flood had subsided. When the remains of Eoin Roe were passing through Áth-na-gCorp the river flooded and the remains had to stay back for two days and two nights.
