- The name of my townland is Tattygar. It is in the Parish of Muckno, and in the barony of Cremorne. The number of families in it is seventeen and the approximate number of people is fifty two. The name of the family most common is Daly.Most of the houses in my district are slated; there are only four tatched houses. There are four people in it whose ages are over seventy. They do not know Irish, neither can they tell stories in Irish. But there was one old woman who died about two years ago and she could tell stories in English. It was she (and her brother Pat who is still alive) who told me all the old fairy tales and stories. Her name was Ann Duffy and she lived in Tattygar.In former times houses were more numerous than they are now. Some of them are in ruins and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
