"It wont be a stylish marriage for we cannot afford a carriage but we'll look so neat, going along the street on a bicycle built for two".There is a rhyme too connected with the colour of the dress which the bride should wear on her wedding day :-"Married in red, you' ll wish yourself dead.
Married in grey, you'll live far away.
Married in brown, you'll live out of town.
Married in pink, your spirits will sink.
Married in blue, he's sure to be true."
Another old rhyme often quoted in our district says
that the bride should always wear
"Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue".
