1869 was the date of the year

1869 was the date of the year
When the waterloe sportsmen and more did appear
For to gain the praise and bare the sway
Against the pride of old England and Master Magrath.
On the twelth of December that day of renown
Magrath and his sportsmen left Lurgan town
There was a gale on the Channel
    That soon drove them on.
On the thirteenth we landed on fair England shore
When he arrived in big London town
Some of the sportsmen gathered around
Some of the gentle men gave a ha! ha!
Saying is that the great dog you call Master Magrath.
Saying what about you or your
Irish greyhound [for you or your greyhound we dont give a straw
We will humble the pride of your Master Mgrath.
Lord Lurgan steps forward and asked, gentlemen [is there any of you have money to spend
There is ten thousand to one on Master Mgrath.
