- In a triangular field in Damerstown there is a hidden treasure. There was a river flowing by the field and a scrub up over it. By whom or why the treasure was hidden is not known; it is supposed to be gold of great value. There was in the parish at that time a poor priest and he needed money badly. One night the priest told twelve men to dig for the treasure and not to speak. When they began to dig they heard a roar. One of the men spoke and the hole was closed and the treasure was never found.
