    Commons" who built Castle-town House.
    Castletown House took 10 years to have it completed, and the foreman's mason's wage was 12 s per week, it was finished in 1725.
    In Castletown wood there is the remains of an old Abbey of The "Grey Friars" and also the ruins of the Church of Killmacreadoc and the old bell now serves as the farmyard bell.
    On one of the farms there stands a barn built by Lady L. Connolly also and an "Obelisk" built by Lady Ann Connolly, and tradition tells us that the highest wage earned at the erection was 2d per day, as that was the time of scarcity of work in Ireland.
    Castletown is now the residence of Major Connolly, a keen folower of the "Kildare Hounds"
