- In Penal Times the English soldiers known as the "Red Coats" were hunting the priests. The priests used to say Mass in lonely places for fear of them. They said Mass in three places round my district on in a place called Knockmagamma in which remains of a holy water font is still seen. There is a stone to be seen in Rookwood. It is called "Poll an Aifrinn." There is another place near Drumsna where Mass was said. It is called "Ard an Aifrinn".
