A Song (ar lean)
“O Joe why don't you write to me”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)49
ContinuedO Joe you'll send me some relief
Or you'll perish Rhodes and me

(in margin General Butler)
And then what followed after
George and his men combined
To kill Long Tom they did agree And all were well inclined
With five hundred strong they marched along
All in the dead of night
They killed Long Tom they say themselves
They choked him with dynamite
5
And when they had done this wicked deed
And before to their tents marched in
Long Tom's brother avenged his death
he killed three hundred men
And George when calling on the roll
To her how he did moan
He said "Our luck was better"
If we let Lone Tom alone.
