James Plunket's house was vacant for years and it fell into ruins. A few years ago the stones were used for road repairs. This man's son, who lived for a short time in Kinard after his father's death, was not a good or holy man and it is believed that a black pig appears at Kinard, at the spot, where the Plunket's house once stood. Many local people claim that they have seen the "black pig".
