- This townland adjacent to Shanbo on the southern side, is, however, in the Glenmore parish. The Forrestalls were an Anglo-Norman family and resided in the neighbourhood from early Norman times.
Under Cromwell, James Forstall [Forrestall?], with Thomas Den of Ballygurrim forfeited and was transplanted to Connaught. The Forrestall name is still well represented in the Glenmore and Rosbercon Parishes. - Aylwardstown is also in the Glenmore Parish and like the Forrestalls the Aylwards of "Norman Origin" They were transplanted in 1653. They regained their property later and a daughter of Nicholas Aylward married one of the De Fraynes about 1680-1690. A son of his married Eliza Butler, daughter of Sir Richard Butler, of Shankill, Gowran(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
