    Chilblains
    1. Rub the chilblains with the water that cools the irons in the forge.
    2. Get a red hot poker and hold it near the chilblains.
    3. To rub parafin oil to them.
    Colds
    1. A lemon drink before you go to bed
    2. Boil the lemon in water and add sugar of candy.
    3. To drink gruel made of oaten meal and sweetened with milk and to go to bed immediately.
    4. To rub your nose with vaseline.
    Toothache
    1. To put a bottle of hot water to your face
    2. To eat a piece of garlic.
    3. To put a drop of iodine in the hole in the tooth.
    4. To put a drop of carbolic acid in the hole.
    5. To put hot water and salt in your mouth
    6. To lie on a hot cloth.
    Sore eyes
    1. To wash them in cold tea.
    2. To bathe them in hot milk.
    3. To bathe them in water got from the tree in Kilkeasy churchyard.
    Pains
    1. To beat yourself with nettles.
    2. To drink hot milk with a lump of butter in it.
