- (continued from previous page)Rowers:at each oar. There used be from twelve to fourteen oars to each boat in a race. Nearly every man in graignamanagh is a skilful oarsman. The best rowers were William Ryan High St and Patick Coady The Quay. The farmer is dead some years. They won races at regattas in New Ross and Goresbridge and Borris and Carlow. They compete in Kilkenny and failed so tis said that they are at their best only on the Barrow. Mick Kehoe, Johnnie Heffernan, Patrick Breen from (?) John Dorman from Carrigleade were a very much talked of cew. They won prizes in Graig. The first two are dead. They were farmers. Patrick Breen(continues on next page)
