It is supposed that there was a treasure hidden in Mr Dillon's field. One time there was a monastery in which lived a lot of monks. The people of the parish gave them all their gold to mind, because they had no banks in which to put it. The monks heard of Cromwell's army coming from the neighbouring counties. They hid all their gold in a well, and covered it with a big bar of iron. They covered the bar of o iron with green sods and clay.
