To take the soft breezes of spring,

I heard from behind a green willow,
The sigh of two lovers in pain,
And passing I discovered two lovers,
As I roved round Lord Blayney's Demesne.II
There looks bore the gloom of deep sorrow,
And that bosom was heaving with woe,
As they tenderly gazed on each other
While the tears down in torrents did flow.
Saying Mary far distant I'll wander,
And to-morrow I'll leave you in pain,
And it's bard was the fate of two lovers,
