- A lot of travelling people make little tents on the side of the road and stay there all night. When the morning comes they go to some other town or village. Some travelling people have nice horses and caravans and they sleep in them. The commonest of the travellers are the Purcells who come to my district very often. The Purcells sell delph such as jugs, and cups, and saucers. More travelling folk sell and buy horses. There are a lot of tinkers on the road some selling things, and more of them begging. Now-a-days the people do not keep the travellers in the house for the night. Some of these travellers are very good at making mats.
