- A Burning
In 1882 there was a big burning in the district of Inchiniskey. The house of the Pre/ present Johns Breen's parents went on fire and either 2 or 3 chn lost their lives.
The fire originated in the kitchen. The Baby's Cradle was left in the kitchen too near the fire. It went on fire & the staircase was burned.Old Mrs Nora Breen who was a young woman at the time jumped with her youngest baby in her arms, out thr the window & in this way saved herself & baby.
In the same year the present 2 story house was built.
Twenty-five years later the whole shed of turn of the same family was burned out. Someone brought out a "live coal" to light his pipe & threw the remainder into the turn shed.
